I’m Melanie, an abstract artist based in Tasmania, Australia. I moved to this beautiful island state over 10 years ago with my little family and am now obsessed with the pristine waterways, mountainous landscape and lush flora of the Tasmanian wilderness. It is this natural environment from which my abstract works are borne as I seek to explore, document and capture my affinity for the wild using different layering and mark making techniques.

I use acrylic, watercolour, gouache and pastel to weave intricate stories about my experiences in and response to wild spaces, whilst exploring themes such as responsibility, belonging, desire, escapism, ancestry, technology and community.
